About the organization

Launched in 2011 after broad community conversations, Welcome Dayton is a City of Dayton community initiative housed in the Community Engagement Division of Planning, Neighborhoods and Development. Its work advances immigrant integration through business and economic development; access to education, government, health, and social services; equity in the justice system; and arts and culture. Dayton became the first Certified Welcoming city in the United States in 2017. Welcome Dayton is primarily a connector and convener rather than a direct service provider.
